My Own Stand on Inclusive and Special Education
Inclusive Education has already been applied in different corners of the world. We already have the idea how it resulted to various positive response because of this appropriate and relevant education. Giving high quality instruction and serious dedication among teachers and parents,this is possible as a good spot on educational system regardless of any challenges the students encounter. On the other hand, we also have special education that caters the children that are of need of special attention or care. These students need a different type instruction in order to suffice their development process successfully.
If I compare these two educational programs, I would say that they both have positive goals to do. But just to add certain matters, these two have pro's and con's in ensuring the success of each program's goal.
In my own opinion, I would say that this Inclusive education has positive and negative parts based on my observation as an educator: to mention, inclusive education would cater student fairly regardless of their differences and of their skills. but i must also consider that it would be better to provide teachers who are all masters of this type of program for them to manage well the higher quality of instruction for the students. If the school cannot provide quality teachers for this matter, it would be a sad part that the goal cannot be reached. If the teacher is not equipped, they should provide proper training and equipment to help them become competent. But this program, will also develop the sense of belonging among children who are different from one another. Thus, this will help other students the way to accept each one's uniqueness.
For special education, we can say that this program has its positive way to provide quality education among special students. But it does limit the differences among our children who have different needs among those who are of normal. Good thing that teachers are well equipped in this program.
Thus, both programs has it's positive goals but for me education is not about inclusive and special but more on commitment and dedication of our educators and of course the system that helps the teachers to answer their needs for an effective and efficient teaching providing quality life-long learners.
